On March 28, 2026, "OIMACHI TRACKS" opened in front of Oimachi Station. This highly anticipated large-scale mixed-use complex seamlessly connects offices, residences, movie theaters, saunas, and hotels.
Pass through the "Tracks Exit" ticket gates at JR Oimachi Station, and you'll find yourself facing a grand staircase illuminated by vibrant projection mapping and a bustling plaza.
Beyond the plaza's large windows stretches a breathtaking view that captivates even non-railway enthusiasts. A panorama unfolds featuring the vast Yamanote Line train depot and the city's skyline of downtown buildings.
We visited during the magic hour just after sunset, but as the night grows deeper, you can apparently watch the trains quietly settling in for rest after completing their daily runs.
When the city's energy settles down and only the depot's lights float mysteriously in the darkness, the late-night scenery must be absolutely spectacular.
