MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 opened in 2018.
The retail space was created by renovating the 109MEN'S fashion building, which is located directly in front of the Scramble intersection.
On the roof of the same building is the CROSSING VIEW, a sky-themed observation deck.
There is a panoramic view of the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and, beyond your line of sight, Shibuya Mark City, Shibuya 109 and Shibuya Fuclas, among other Shibuya landmarks.
The highlight is the Scramble Crossing. The sight of 3,000 people coming and going at a single green light is powerful.
Admission requires the purchase of a drink from the café attached to the observatory, but the price for admission to the observatory plus a drink is from 600 yen, which is a very reasonable price.
Also, visitors to the café can take advantage of the Crossing Photo service, where you can take a selfie from a camera installed high above your head with the Scramble Crossing in the background, so it's a good way to get an unusual souvenir photo.
