This observatory offers a panoramic view of the city of Tokyo from the 47th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, 202 meters above ground level.
Separate observation floors are provided for the south and north, with different opening hours, regular closing days, and facilities on each floor.
There are no major differences in the views, and the highlights are as follows.
- The west side of the observation deck offers a beautiful view of the triangular-roofed Shinjuku Park Tower, the 222-meter-high Tokyo Opera City, and Mt.Fuji
- The north side, with its magnificent view of Shinjuku's skyscrapers lined up in rows.
For those who wish to visit during twilight hours, it is recommended to allow plenty of time for your visit, as there is often a line for the elevators dedicated to the observation deck for about an hour before and after sunset.
This is one of the most beautiful free observation decks in Tokyo, so please be sure to visit.
