Visit Report: Asahi Sky Room Observation Lounge

At the Asahi Beer headquarters in Asakusa's Azumabashi, famous for its golden flame sculpture, you'll find the observation lounge "Asahi Sky Room" on the building's top floor (22F). Finding a public lounge amid floors bustling with company employees might seem surprising at first, but this actually adds to its "hidden gem" appeal.

From approximately 100m (328 ft) above ground, the lounge offers sweeping views across the Sumida River to Tokyo Skytree, Sensoji Temple, and the bridges spanning the river. The nighttime illumination of Tokyo Skytree and the riverside scenery is particularly stunning, creating a peaceful space where you can quietly enjoy the views in the calm interior setting.

The drink menu features Asahi Super Dry alongside Dry Premium Hojun, black beer, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks - a comprehensive selection. Light meals are also well-stocked, making it perfect for a "scenery-focused visit plus a drink" experience. Honestly, being able to enjoy these views with just one drink order feels like exceptional value.

Crowd levels vary significantly by time of day. When I visited around 6 PM, there were many international tourists and about 20 groups waiting, but returning around 9 PM meant zero wait time for entry. If you're aiming for sunset to night views, timing your visit a bit later is more practical.

Rather than a full dining experience, this place excels as a spot to "quietly enjoy a drink to cap off a date or exploration in the Asakusa area." Despite being right in the heart of a tourist district, it offers a space removed from the hustle and bustle, making it genuinely recommendable for those wanting to savor the scenery.
