Tokyo Sky Tree opened in May 2012 as a radio tower and tourist facility.

Hotel with a beautiful view of Tokyo Sky Tree

Wing International Select Asakusa Komagata

Hotel Wing International Select Asakusa Komagata is located a short walk from Sensoji Temple.

On the 12th floor, there is an observation terrace available only for guests, offering a panoramic view of the Tokyo Sky Tree, Azuma Bridge over the Sumida River, and Komagata Bridge.

The joint view of the Tokyo Sky Tree and the bridges over the Sumida River is very picturesque.

Asakusa View Hotel

Opened in September 1985, the Asakusa View Hotel has 28 floors above ground and 3 floors below.

Each guest room on the Skytree side has a small observation area where guests can view the illuminated Tokyo Skytree, Sensoji Temple, and Asakusa Hanayashiki.

The Skytree and the five-story pagoda of Sensoji Temple make for a very atmospheric sight.

The Asakusa View Hotel also has a guest-only observation room on the 20th floor, where guests who have rooms on the opposite side of the Sky Tree can also enjoy the view.

The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon by HULIC

This 14-story hotel opened in 2012 in an area directly next to Sensoji Temple.

The front desk and restaurant on the 13th floor offer views of the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Asakusa skyline.

The hotel also has a rooftop terrace on the 14th floor for the exclusive use of hotel guests, where they can enjoy an extraordinary moment with a sense of openness.

The Tokyo Sky Tree can be seen on the east side of the building, so we recommend waking up early to take pictures of the view before sunrise.

Intercontinental Tokyo Bay

The InterContinental Tokyo Bay is a 24-story, five-star hotel that opened in 1995.

River view rooms overlooking the north direction offer views of the Tsukiji and Kachidokibashi bridges over the Sumida River and the Tokyo Sky Tree.

It is one of the few accommodations that offer an unobstructed view of the Sumida River.

Observatory with a beautiful view of Tokyo Sky Tree

Tower Hall Funabori

Tower Hall Funabori is a well-known landmark in Edogawa Ward.

It is a large-scale complex with event venues, conference rooms, and a movie theater, and also offers a free corridor-style observation deck at a height of 115 meters.

The highlight is the view to the west, where you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree, Tokyo Tower, Mt.

Fuji. The view is a powerful one that can only be seen in the city. It is no exaggeration to say that the view of the Tokyo Sky Tree is the most beautiful in Tokyo.

Sky Tree East Tower 30F Observation Deck

Tokyo Solamachi is a commercial facility adjacent to Tokyo Sky Tree.

There is a free observation space in the restaurant area on the 30th and 31st floors, where the powerful Sky Tree towers over the large windows.

There are many places where one can view the Tokyo Sky Tree, but there is no other observation space where one can view the tree at such a close distance.

Asakusa EKIMISE Asakusa Hare Terrace

Asakusa EKIMISE is a commercial facility directly connected to Asakusa Station on the Tobu Isezaki Line.

On the roof of the building is the rooftop garden, Asakusa Hare Terrace, where you can view the Tokyo Sky Tree, the headquarters of Asahi Breweries, and the Sumida Ward area.

The rooftop garden is open until 20:00, which is a little early for visitors, but please stop by when you visit Asakusa.

Arcakit Kinshicho

Arcakit Kinshicho is a commercial facility located at the north exit of Kinshicho Station.

On the 11th floor rooftop, there is a free observation space where you can view the Sumida area.

The best view is the one on the north side where you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree from a good distance.

It is a rare spot to get an unobstructed view of the world's tallest tower.

Although the observation deck is easily accessible from the station, it closes at 6:00 p.m., so it is a night view spot only during the winter season.

Asakusa Tourist Center

The Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center, with its beautiful modern Japanese style, stands across from the Kaminarimon gate of Sensoji Temple.

Equipped with tourist brochures, public wireless LAN, and a foreign currency exchange office, the building also offers a free observation deck on the 8th floor to assist visitors to Asakusa.

Although not that high, it offers a panoramic view of the illuminated Tokyo Sky Tree and the headquarters of Asahi Breweries, Ltd.

The Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center also has a great view toward Sensoji Temple.

Bunkyo Civic Center Observation Deck

The Bunkyo Civic Center is a public facility that houses the Bunkyo Ward Office and a cultural hall.

On the 25th floor of the building is the observation lounge, which is open to visitors free of charge.

The best view is to the west, where you can see the skyscrapers of Shinjuku and Mt. Fuji together, but you can also see the Tokyo Sky Tree neatly to the east.

Sunshine 60 Observation Deck, Tenbo Park

The observatory “Tenbo Park” is located on the top floor of Sunshine 60, which reopened in April 2023.

This popular observation deck offers a panoramic view of the city of Tokyo from east to west, north to south, and south to north.

Inside the building, there is a grass plaza where you can lie down and a café space where you can relax and enjoy the view of the Tokyo cityscape.

The west side, where you can see the entire view of Ikebukuro Station, and the south side, where you can see the skyscrapers of the Shinjuku area, are particularly popular, but if you look to the southeast, you can enjoy the Tokyo Skytree View.

This is a very reasonably priced observation deck in Tokyo, so be sure to stop by.

Kitatopia Observation Lobby

A free observation deck on the 17th floor of Kitatopia.

With windows in three directions, visitors can fully enjoy the view of Tokyo.

The view of the Tokyo Sky Tree and multiple train tracks in the southeast direction is especially worth seeing.

i-Link Town Observation Facility

The i-Link observation facility is located in a high-rise condominium directly connected to the south exit of JR Ichikawa Station.

There are indoor and outdoor observation decks on the 45th floor, offering beautiful views from 150 meters above the ground.

The highlight is the view on the west side, where you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree and Mt.

Fuji. If you visit at twilight, you can enjoy the breathtaking view.

Please note that tripods are only available on the third Friday and Saturday of each month.

Parks and plazas with a beautiful view of Tokyo Sky Tree

Koume Children's Park

A beautifully maintained children's park located near the “Tokyo Skytree” station on the Tobu Line in Sumida-ku, Tokyo.

It features works of art from the “GTS Sightseeing Art Project,” a collaboration between Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and the Taito and Sumida wards of Tokyo.

Looking up at the sky from among the countless poles standing in a row, visitors can enjoy the mysterious sight of the Sky Tree stretching high into the sky in alignment with the Sky Tree.

The poles light up in multiple colors at night, so it is recommended to take a shutter release when the poles are aligned with the illuminated colors of the Sky Tree.

Sky Tree Bicycle Parking Rooftop Plaza

The Oshiage Station Bicycle Parking Lot is located at the rotary on the east side of Skytree Town, adjacent to the Oshiage Subway Station.

The rooftop space at this location has an observation plaza that is open to the public free of charge and offers a close-up view of the Tokyo Sky Tree.

In addition, train views of the Keisei Oshiage Line and Tobu Skytree Line are available on the opposite side of the Skytree.

The wooden deck and moderate footlights create a relaxed atmosphere, making it a good date course.

Nishijuken Bridge

This spot is popular among night view fans for its fantastic water mirror (upside-down Sky Tree) of the Tokyo Sky Tree.

It is recommended to visit when the wind is calm and the surface of the river is not shaking.

Incidentally, to take a souvenir photo of the reflection, a smartphone or other device with a super wide-angle lens is required.

Arakawa riverbed (Kinegawabashi baseball field)

Near the Arakawa riverbed (Kinegawabashi baseball field), located about a 9-minute walk from Yotsugi Station on the Keisei Oshiage Line.

This is a spot where you can view very beautiful scenery at twilight from sunset to night.

The Tokyo Sky Tree and Kinegawa Bridge seen over the Arakawa River are highlights.

When the sun sets completely, it is quite dark around you and you cannot see your feet, so use the light of your smartphone as a flashlight on your way home.

Kameido Tenjin Shrine

Kameido Tenjinja Shrine is located in Kameido, Koto-ku, Tokyo.

The shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane and is well known as a god of learning, especially among students preparing for entrance exams.

The shrine can be visited throughout the year, but the best time to visit is in April, when the “Kameido Tenjin Wisteria Festival” is held.

The shrine is open all year round, but a visit in April is highly recommended, as the “Kameido Tenjin Wisteria Festival” is held and the wisteria trellises on the shrine grounds are in full bloom.

The wisteria trellises are illuminated at night, and the wisteria is beautifully displayed alongside the Tokyo Skytree.

Sumida Park

Sumida Park boasts an area of approximately 80,000 square meters.

The Komagata-bashi Higashizume intersection is located on the east side of Komagata-bashi Bridge over the Sumida River.

It is a hidden night view spot that offers a panoramic view of the Tokyo Sky Tree, which is about 2 km away.

The way the Sky Tree blends into the city is beautiful, and if you capture the light trails of cars passing by the intersection, you can take powerful night view photos.

Sakurabashi Bridge

The Sakura Bridge is characterized by its shape like the letter X. It is the only pedestrian-only bridge on the Sumida River connecting Sumida and Taito wards.

Kuramae Bridge

Ishikawajima Park “Place de Paris

Ishikawajima Park is a municipal park located along the Sumida River and Asashio Canal.

From the park, one can view the illuminated Eitaibashi Bridge, Chuo Ohashi Bridge, and Tokyo Sky Tree.

Located behind the ultra-luxury condominium “Okawabata River City 21,” the park also features a view of the huge skyscrapers.

Sumida River Bridge

The Sumida River Bridge was built in conjunction with the elevated Metropolitan Expressway No. 9 Fukagawa Line.

Visitors can walk across the bridge directly under the Metropolitan Expressway No. 9 Fukagawa Line and enjoy the night views from the south and north sides.

The south side offers a typical Tokyo view of the Eitai Bridge and the high-rise condominium complexes of Tsukishima lit up in blue, while the north side offers the illuminated Tokyo Sky Tree and Kiyosubashi Bridge.

The sight of houseboats coming and going right under the bridge is also a highlight.

Shioiri Park

Shioiri Park stretches from north to south along the Sumida River.

The vast, beautifully landscaped park has been used as a filming location for numerous dramas.

The highlight of the park is the joint performance of Tokyo Sky Tree and Shirahige Bridge on the south side.

When the lights are turned on after sunset, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the beautiful scenery.

It is also recommended to use this area as a photo spot for the Sumida River Fireworks Festival held every summer.

Tobu Bridge

Tobu Bridge over the Kitajumagawa River, the knee of the Tokyo Sky Tree.

It is a famous spot that attracts many tourists every year when the Kawazu cherry trees, which are early blooming cherry trees, come into bloom from late February to early March.

If you look up at the sky from near the bridge, you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Kawazu cherry blossoms together.

Fureai Bridge

The 56-meter-long Fureai Bridge connects Hirai in Edogawa-ku and Kameido in Koto-ku.

Looking at the bridge from the northeast bank, you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree overlapping with the bridge.

The bridge is illuminated after the completion of the Tokyo Sky Tree, making it a beautiful sight to see when visiting at night.

Since the light-up color of Fureai-bashi Bridge is blue, it is recommended to visit when the Tokyo Sky Tree is in chic (blue).
